Technique is a feeling entity bringing you closer to your personal style and passion in your vocals and lets you find the artist in you.

Great Singing – Free Your Inner Beast

Great singing starts with breath. Lessons begin with connecting the breath with the impulse of singing. Freeing the voice. Supporting your unique sound.

Technique is about endowing you with the ability to be your own teacher by teaching you to see your voice as an instrument with an infinite range of possibility.

Coaching the Song and Monologue for Auditions

Former students include Broadway singers. Dawn Cantwell singer/actress on Sting’s musical The Last Ship. Top opera singers – Angel Blue (Covent Garden, Met Opera, Proms), Julie Adams (Met Opera winner), Danielle and Alana Haim of Haim, Andrew Chapelle and others.

I bring my experience as a Stage Performer and a Stage Director in working with Actors and Singing Actors. Authenticity is often overreached, and the goal is to bring out the unique voice of each and every actor with

intention toward the text. Once we parse intention in the work, we can feel it. I have a range of techniques to assist the auditioning young actor or the pro. The work is applicable to Actors and Singing Actors.

My students? Pop to classical. But the work is fundamental. Organic, core singing with strong intention.

Stephanie helped me find my voice.
She gave me the confidence I needed.

Danielle Haim, the band HAIM

Stephanie Vlahos is a miracle worker for singers and actors.
Her approach to coaching material has made an impact on my life.
She has given me many tools that I use today and will continue to use throughout my career.

Julie Adams, Opera Singer

Stephanie is truly a gifted & versatile teacher. She helped me find my voice in high school. Then prepared me for my first national tour. Her ability to keep a pop/rock singer vocally healthy using classical technique is pretty remarkable!

Gabrielle McClinton, Singer/Actress

Stephanie is one of the most important musical and artistic mentors in my life.
She saw a passion and a calling to sing within me at a very young age and helped me grow my instrument and my capacity as an artist to the point that I now have a full-time career singing and making music. To this day I still use her vocal warmups to. I owe so much to the knowledge she gave tome through our voice lessons.
There is no better voice teacher and artistic mentor!

Micaela Tobin

With Stephanie Vlahos as my guide, I discovered a musicality, expression and tone that I never knew I had. She unleashed what would become my greatest asset and direction.
Few vocal mentors have the ability to see beyond sound. Stephanie transcends sound and discovers the artist. She found my voice and then let me run.”

Coaching Voice Experience

Having been a young opera singer singing opposite performers such as Placido Domingo, Maria Ewing and Frederica Von Stade, I understand the demands of singing onstage from nerves to pacing oneself.

My work as a performance artist led to work with musicians like Danny Elfman, David Was, Van Dyke Parks. My voice is featured in films and commercials, featured soloist for the LA Phil and St Paul Chamber Orchestras.

Stephanie Vlahos honors the process of Young Performers in working to identify and elevate their unique sound and inner voice. Her work is ongoing. She cherishes the work and continues to assist many performers strengthen their voices, develop their technique, and prepare for auditions whether professional or amateur.

Coaching and mentoring is a joy as I love to teach. In that role I created an opera project for young artists at the celebrated County Arts High School (LACHSA) in LA.

I will often tell my voice students that learning to sing is a little bit like trying to find the light switch in a dark and unfamiliar room. You may bump into and trip over a few things until you turn on the light.

Stephanie Vlahos moved onwards and outwards with the students from LACHSA. The young artists project performed in shows in Los Angeles and other locations in China and in Scotland at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival performing “Carmen High” where it received a 5-Star rating from Broadway World.
